Prime Minister Han Seong-sook visited the Banpo District Police Unit of the Seocho Police Station and the Seocho Fire Station on Wednesday to encourage staff ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

At the Banpo unit, Han received a briefing on public safety measures for the holiday period and said it is thanks to officers who quietly carry out their duties under difficult conditions that people can live safely. "I hope you take pride in giving your best at the front lines of public safety," she said.

At the Seocho Fire Station, Han expressed gratitude for firefighters' hard work and urged them to spare no effort in ensuring a safe holiday. "The Seoul Express Bus Terminal and the starting point of the Gyeongbu Expressway are both within your jurisdiction, so a large volume of travelers will be concentrated in this area during the holiday," she said.

She also called on firefighters to use technology — including CCTV-based fire detection, robots and AI systems — for fire prevention and rapid response. She said she wanted the nationwide emergency patient transport reform project to take hold without disruption.

"Please work with the mindset of not missing even the smallest hazard during the holiday, so that we can protect even one more person's life and property," Han said.
