Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok and other ruling party leaders visited Yongsan Station on Wednesday, the day before the Chuseok holiday, to greet travelers heading home for the holiday.

Kim wore a suit and a sash bearing the message "Price stability for people's livelihoods — a warm and plentiful Chuseok," making his way through the main hall and train platforms to meet passengers directly. Joining him were Floor Leader Han Byung-do, Supreme Council Members Choi Min-hee, Seo Mi-hwa, Han Min-su, Lee Sung-yoon, Jeon Yong-gi and Kwon Mi-gyeong, Secretary-General Han Jeong-ae, Policy Committee Chairman Kwon Chil-seung, Chief of Staff Kim Tae-seon and Senior Spokesperson Park Seong-jun.

Kim smiled and posed for photos with children and exchanged greetings with foreign tourists. He then waved to homebound passengers boarding trains on the platform, wishing them a safe journey.

Earlier, at a supreme council meeting at the National Assembly, Kim said the party would not overlook public concerns about certain goods and the broader economy, even as overall Chuseok prices had stabilized with grocery costs falling. "We will reflect on the Democratic Party's reason for being — protecting the middle class, ordinary people and the socially vulnerable — and go all in on people's livelihoods, livelihoods, livelihoods," he said.

He added that after the Chuseok holiday, the party would launch a partywide competition to identify and recognize the best policy and legislative work each month in support of people's livelihoods.
