The National Research Foundation of Korea announced Wednesday that it has appointed Kim Su-young, a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Korea University, as head of the nano and materials division under its National Strategic Research Headquarters. The appointment carries a two-year term.

Kim will oversee government-commissioned support projects in the nano and materials field, with responsibilities spanning evaluation and management, project planning, proposals for mid- to long-term development, policy formulation and advisory work, budget allocation planning, progress monitoring and the promotion of research outcomes, surveys and analysis of research demand, technology forecasting and research trends, and external cooperation.
