LS Cable & System announced Wednesday that it is participating in WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, held in Hamburg, Germany, from Tuesday through Friday.

WindEnergy Hamburg is the world's largest wind energy exhibition, held biennially in Hamburg. The event draws major players across the wind power industry, including global developers, power companies, and turbine and cable manufacturers.

At this year's exhibition, LS Cable & System is presenting an offshore wind power grid solution covering the full chain from wind turbines to onshore power grids. The company is showcasing its complete product lineup — from medium-voltage distribution cables for turbines and inter-turbine submarine cables to high-voltage submarine cables connecting to shore.

Particularly notable is the company's 500-kilovolt (kV) HVDC cable technology, the only commercially available solution of its kind in South Korea's power industry. Its 525kV, 80-degree Celsius-rated HVDC submarine cable increases transmission capacity by up to 25 percent compared with conventional 70-degree Celsius-rated cables, enabling high-capacity power transmission for increasingly large and remote offshore wind projects.

LS Cable & System is also strengthening an integrated project framework with LS Marine Solution that covers the entire process — from submarine cable production, laying and installation to inspection and maintenance. LS Marine Solution is building a 13,000-ton large HVDC submarine cable-laying vessel, targeting deployment in 2028, as part of its broader push to expand offshore wind project capabilities.

The companies are also presenting eco-friendly materials developed in response to Europe's carbon reduction requirements. By incorporating recycled copper and low-carbon recycled aluminum, LS Cable & System aims to cut carbon emissions at the raw-material stage and meet growing demand for sustainable procurement.
