City-funded program runs Oct. 19–Nov. 13
Dongducheon will offer free influenza vaccinations to vulnerable residents from Oct. 19 to Nov. 13 to prevent respiratory infections during the winter and protect the health of those most at risk.
The city-funded program targets Dongducheon residents between the ages of 15 and 64 who are not covered by the national vaccination support program — specifically, recipients of basic livelihood benefits, people with severe disabilities (formerly classified as grade 1 through 3), and recipients of national merit awards.
Eligible residents may receive the free vaccination at the immunization clinic of the Dongducheon Public Health Center between Oct. 19 and Nov. 13. Those wishing to be vaccinated must bring a valid ID and supporting documents verifying their eligibility.
Required documents include a basic livelihood recipient certificate, a disability welfare card and a national merit award certificate. Residents are advised to confirm their eligibility and prepare the necessary paperwork before visiting.
The program is a locally funded initiative designed to extend vaccination access to vulnerable residents aged 15 to 64 who fall outside the national immunization support program. The city expects it to help protect at-risk residents and curb the spread of infectious diseases in the community.
"This vaccination program is essential for protecting the health of vulnerable people who have limited access to medical care," said Shin Ae-ran, head of the health administration division at the public health center. "We urge residents not to miss the vaccination window."
