Partnership to expand existing projects and jointly develop new business
Companies to target AI city and smart nation markets
Ditonic, an AI platform company, said Tuesday it has signed a strategic partnership with Presight, a core affiliate of UAE-based AI technology group G42, to jointly pursue the global AI city and smart nation markets.
The partnership took shape after roughly two months of technical review following Ditonic's participation in Presight's global AI accelerator program "Cohort II" in July. Ditonic was selected as one of 12 finalist companies out of 376 competitors from 62 countries.
Ditonic describes itself as an AI operating system company that connects data, knowledge and systems across cities and enterprises to enable intelligent operations. Its core platform, D.Hub, integrates large-scale data and uses an ontology-based structure to help AI understand and apply domain expertise and operational context. The platform links AI situational awareness and evidence-based decision-making to real-world task execution, providing an integrated AI operations environment spanning smart cities, industry, the public sector and defense — from analysis through response.
Presight is a global applied AI company valued at $5 billion. It is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, with G42 holding a majority stake. G42, a global AI technology group, secured $1.5 billion in strategic investment from Microsoft in 2024.
The two companies plan to combine Presight's global market access, project execution capabilities and networks with Ditonic's AI OS and AI city technology to jointly target the global AI city and smart nation markets. Using the UAE as a primary cooperation hub, they will work to expand results from existing projects and pursue new joint ventures, with plans to extend collaboration to fast-growing markets including Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia and Africa.
"Through our collaboration with Ditonic, we see an opportunity to connect world-class AI innovation with the challenges facing cities, businesses and institutions in global markets," Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham said. "We will work together to find practical applications that help customers make better decisions and turn them into real action, and develop this into a partnership that builds trustworthy intelligent systems and sustainable value."
Jeon Yong-ju, managing partner of Ditonic, said the partnership would combine Presight's national-scale applied AI experience and global execution capabilities with Ditonic's ontology-based AI OS technology. "We will connect the complex data of cities and nations to better decision-making and execution, and create a new reference point for Korean AI technology in the global AI city and smart nation markets," he said.
Ditonic has been building a foothold in Europe and the Middle East and North Africa region through successful participation in smart city and smart retail projects. The company is also pursuing the US smart retail market, drawing on its digital transformation and AI transformation work with CJ Olive Young.
