THE SKY184, the Cheongna Sky Bridge connecting Yeongjongdo and Cheongna, is quickly establishing itself as a popular weekend destination in the Greater Seoul area.

According to the Incheon Tourism Organization, the paid Sky Observatory has recorded occupancy and usage rates exceeding 90% as autumn sets in.

Offering sweeping views of Cheongna International City, Yeongjongdo and the West Sea horizon, the site draws steady crowds eager to catch the crimson sunset over the sea at dusk.

Including the free-admission Sea Observatory and waterfront promenade, the bridge attracts around 1,000 visitors on weekdays and up to 3,000 on weekends.

A key driver of the surge in popularity has been the outdoor media lounge, which opened Sept. 8.

Housed in the space beneath the bridge deck, the lounge offers free immersive media displays themed around the four seasons, featuring Incheon's signature mascots — the spotted seal and the black-faced spoonbill.

The nightly light show, which runs for one hour starting at 6:30 p.m., has rapidly become a popular photo spot on social media.

To ensure a comfortable and safe viewing environment, the Incheon Tourism Organization caps simultaneous attendance at 280 people.

Cultural events are also lined up to enhance the autumn evening atmosphere. A weekly "Sky Concert" series runs through October, with a fusion stage blending classical music and traditional Korean music scheduled for Sunday, followed by a viola recital and popular music performance on Oct. 10 to mark the deepening of autumn.

Families with children are also catered to: the second floor of the lounge building hosts ongoing programs combining education and play, including science workshops for kids.

The Incheon Tourism Organization plans to expand seasonal themed programming — including an autumn outdoor library week and a winter Christmas week — to transform the site from a simple observation deck into a full-day cultural destination where visitors can linger and explore.

Schedules for major performances and information on advance reservations for indoor programs are available on the official website.
