Care workers from Samsung Noblelife, Shinhan Lifecare and KB Golden Lifecare honored

The Korea Life Insurance Association announced Tuesday that it held the inaugural Life Insurance Senior Lifecare Awards to recognize outstanding workers in elder care and caregiving.

The ceremony took place Monday at the Life Insurance Education and Culture Center, where 12 care workers and nurses affiliated with Samsung Noblelife, Shinhan Lifecare and KB Golden Lifecare received awards.

Park Hyun-sook, a care worker at Samsung Noble County with 13 years of service, spoke on behalf of the recipients. "I feel the greatest sense of fulfillment when I see our elderly residents living comfortably and happily," she said. "I will take this award as encouragement and continue to do my best for the seniors in my care."

The association said it plans to use the awards as a springboard to identify and recognize outstanding care workers on an ongoing basis, and to foster a culture in which those who provide quality care are respected.

Korea Life Insurance Association Chairman Kim Cheol-ju said the quiet dedication of care workers and nurses who stand by the elderly in the field is raising the standard of care in Korean society. "The life insurance industry will also play a responsible role in expanding the care ecosystem — through workforce training and education, senior nutrition and age-tech — and in building a sustainable care system that brings together the public and private sectors," he added.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 2025 Long-Term Care Survey found that workers at long-term care facilities have been with their current employer for an average of 6.3 years.
