Incheon Global City Development (IGCD) launched a quarterly newsletter called "Songdo Gongam" on Monday and held an awards ceremony for a personal essay contest marking the company's 12th anniversary.
The inaugural issue of "Songdo Gongam" was published to help the 7 million overseas Koreans settle in South Korea and to strengthen communication with local communities.
The quarterly covers news related to the country's first residential complex for foreigners, development trends in Songdo International City, and a range of administrative, residential and lifestyle information.
The first issue spotlights IGCD's medium- and long-term project vision and the achievements of its American Town development.
It also includes a pre-sale and investment guide for the "Homing Roots Songdo" project being developed in Songdo District 11, providing overseas Koreans hoping to return home and prospective investors with practical information on required administrative procedures, relevant regulations and real estate market trends.
Alongside this, IGCD held the awards ceremony for its settlement essay contest, "What Is Your H?", organized to mark the company's 12th anniversary.
IGCD President Jung Geun-young presented certificates and prizes to winners of the grand prize, top prize and excellence award.
The winning entries — which recount the settlement journeys, setbacks and triumphs of residents who relocated to Songdo from abroad or other parts of Korea — were published in full in the inaugural issue of "Songdo Gongam."
IGCD plans to use the winning essays as reference material for prospective residents considering a move to the area.
"We will serve as a bridge of communication and harmony connecting 3 million Incheon citizens with 7 million overseas Koreans," Jung said. "We will build a meaningful archive that records the future vision and residential value of Songdo as an international city — from the stories of nearby neighbors to news from Korean communities abroad."
He added that "Songdo Gongam" would be operated not merely as a vehicle for pre-sale or project promotion, but as an ongoing communication channel delivering updates on project schedules, construction progress and lifestyle information for residents.
