Yeongcheon city in North Gyeongsang Province visited the provincial office Monday to mark the Chuseok holiday season, expressing gratitude to provincial civil servants and seeking their support and cooperation on key local projects.

The visit was organized to deepen mutual understanding of major pending issues through exchanges between working-level officials from the province and the city, and to build a foundation for smoother project implementation.

About 60 Yeongcheon city employees called on relevant provincial departments according to their areas of responsibility, exchanging holiday greetings and briefing counterparts on the progress of key projects and areas requiring cooperation.

Working-level officials from both sides also discussed challenges in carrying out their work and ways to strengthen collaboration, deepening their shared understanding of local issues and laying the groundwork for continued cooperation.

Mayor Kim Byung-sam met separately with Governor Lee Cheol-woo, highlighting the rise in visitors to Yeongcheon since the opening of Let's Run Park Yeongcheon and the potential for growth in the horse industry and tourism sector.

Kim called on the province to provide policy and fiscal support for expanding access roads and key connecting routes to Let's Run Park, improving traffic systems and public transportation, promoting extended-stay tourism linked to nearby attractions, and developing the horse industry.

"This visit to the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office will serve as an opportunity to break ground on resolving local issues through substantive working-level consultations with relevant provincial departments," a Yeongcheon city official said. "We will continue to communicate and cooperate closely with the provincial office to secure provincial funding and advance key projects for the city's development."
