Seongju-gun in North Gyeongsang Province visited Daegu's Bukseong-ro Prototown, a youth village, on Saturday as part of its Youth New Deal Project, an initiative aimed at helping young people settle in the area and build their capabilities. The visit, organized by the Seongju-gun Family Center, served as a benchmarking exercise.

About 25 young residents and workers from Seongju-gun took part in the trip, observing how the youth village operates and experiencing local content programs that draw on the area's spaces and resources.

Participants received an introduction to Bukseong-ro and the youth village before touring the surrounding area to see how the neighborhood's history and physical spaces are being transformed into new local content through the work of young people.

They then took part in hands-on activities — making dot-print T-shirts and designing self-made posters — through which they expressed local stories in creative form.

The program stood out because participants did not simply observe a success story from another region. They directly experienced how local resources and young people's ideas can combine to create new value.

"We will continue to identify and support a wide range of programs so that the voices and ideas of young people can translate into real activity within the community," a Seongju-gun official said.
