Pohang Mayor Park Yong-seon visited the city's sanitation workers welfare center early Monday, sharing breakfast with workers and listening to their concerns ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

Over the meal, Park heard firsthand accounts of difficulties workers face on the job, along with suggestions for improvement, and exchanged views on creating a safer working environment.

"Your sweat and dedication are the foundation that keeps our citizens' daily lives clean and comfortable," Park said. "Above all, safety must come first — please always stay mindful of safety on the job and take care of your health."
