Pyeon Ye-jun (19), nicknamed "Pyeon Star" and fighting out of Road FC Gunsan, will look to win three straight fights for the first time in his professional career when he takes on China's Aerchili.
The bout is set for Nov. 1 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul as part of Road FC 079, with both fighters meeting at a 59-kilogram contract weight.
Pyeon turned professional in 2024 and quickly made a name for himself last year by competing in a flyweight title fight against Lee Jeong-hyeon. This year he has strung together two consecutive wins — first over veteran Yoo Jae-nam, then over Russia's Sunnatulo Azizov. A victory over Aerchili would give him his first three-fight winning streak as a professional.
Aerchili introduced himself to Korean fans last month at Road FC 078, where he defeated top contender Jo Jun-geon. His aggressive, pressure-heavy style built around powerful punches is his chief asset.
Pyeon also favors an all-out striking game, making a stand-and-trade war between the two the likely scenario. Whether the rising Pyeon can get past the emerging Chinese contender and reclaim a foothold at the top of the flyweight division will be worth watching.
