A vendor was making songpyeon rice cakes at a tteok shop in Gyeongdong Market in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on Monday morning, three days before Chuseok. A survey found that setting a traditional holiday table for a family of four costs around 400,000 won ($289) this year, driven by a sharp rise in prices. The government has expanded discount support and the supply of seasonal goods to record levels ahead of the holiday.
