Yoajung announced Monday the launch of five varieties of its "Yoajung Fresh Fruit Yogurt Chapssaltteok," a new dessert wrapping fresh fruit and yogurt cream inside a glutinous rice cake.

The new menu items combine Yoajung's signature rich yogurt cream with honeycomb and fresh fruit — shine muscat grapes, blueberries, figs and mango.

Every item is made to order in-store, allowing customers to enjoy the chewy texture of freshly made chapssaltteok alongside the flavor of fresh fruit. Each order comes with a "Yoa's Splitting Thread" for cleanly halving the rice cake, and a gift box option is available for the chuseok season.

The product rolled out at 250 stores Saturday and will gradually expand to outlets nationwide.

The response on SNS has been strong since the launch. One Instagram post reviewing the new item has already logged more than 1.9 million views.

Young consumers appear to be driving the enthusiasm, drawn in part by the convenience of enjoying chapssaltteok — a dessert that has recently gained a following for its long queues — through delivery, takeout or dine-in.

"We've taken the yogurt flavor that has made Yoajung so beloved and brought it to a fresh fruit chapssaltteok," a company official said. "We hope customers will pick their favorite flavor and enjoy it at their leisure."
