Genesis BBQ Group announced Monday that it has delivered 1,000 chickens to children, teenagers and elderly people across the country this month through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The total number of chickens the company has donated to local communities since January has surpassed approximately 18,000. The efforts range from a mobile outreach program — in which staff visit community sites directly to hand over freshly prepared chicken — to a charity drive at its chicken training academy, where trainees and staff cook and donate the chicken themselves. The mobile program visited nine locations this month, including youth shelters in Wonju, Icheon and Yongin.

Franchise owners across the country also took part through a separate initiative in which BBQ's headquarters supplies fresh chicken and franchise partners cook and deliver it themselves. Recipients included local children's centers, community welfare centers, children's care homes, nursing homes, centers for elderly people living alone and neighborhood community offices.

"We will consistently continue activities that allow us to share warmth with local communities," a BBQ official said.
