The Korea Racing Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Mongolia's Khuvsgul Province on horse culture and industry cooperation at Lets Run Park Seoul on Saturday, the authority announced Monday.
Korea Racing Authority President Woo Hee-jong, Khuvsgul Aimag Provincial Assembly Speaker Dondov Purevdorj and Mongolian National Assembly member Baterden attended the signing ceremony. The two sides agreed to share information on their respective horse cultures and industries and explore ways to expand exchanges and cooperation linked to tourism.
The agreement grew out of a visit the Korea Racing Authority made to Mongolia in July as part of a Korea-Mongolia economic delegation. During that trip, the authority signed an MOU with Mongolia's World Horse Day Foundation, laying the groundwork for bilateral exchanges in horse culture and industry.
The Korea Racing Authority plans to maintain ongoing communication with Mongolian counterparts and explore cooperation across a range of areas, including equine tourism, rehabilitation and therapy, and horse industry regulatory systems.
"If we combine Mongolia's rich horse resources and traditional horse culture with South Korea's horse industry infrastructure and expertise, I believe we can open a new chapter for the industry," Woo said.
