Minister tours Daejeon hospital wards and rehabilitation facilities, thanks medical staff working through holiday

Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Young-hoon met with industrial accident patients and medical staff ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The ministry said Kim visited the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service's Daejeon Hospital on Monday, touring inpatient wards and rehabilitation facilities and offering words of encouragement to patients spending the holiday in the hospital.

Daejeon Hospital operates 126 nursing and care service beds — the most among industrial accident hospitals in the country. Specializing in hand and shoulder rehabilitation, it supports patients' treatment and return to work and society.

Kim delivered gift packages to patients in the wards and listened to their concerns about hospital life and suggestions for improving the system. He also expressed gratitude to medical staff working through the Chuseok holiday for their dedication to patient care.

He then inspected rehabilitation facilities including a vocational recovery training room, a musculoskeletal treatment room and a central nervous system treatment room.

"We will continuously improve and develop the rehabilitation services that industrial accident patients need," Kim said. "We will spare no effort in supporting patients so they can return to work and society as soon as possible."
