Daegu Haany University announced Monday that President Byun Chang-hoon received the top prize in the CEO-talent development category at the 2026 Korea Management Awards.

Since Byun took office, the university has accelerated its education reforms by linking specialized fields — including Korean medicine, biohealth, K-beauty, food and wellness — to education, industry and global networks through its K-MEDI Silk Road initiative, anchored by the Glocal University 30 project.

As a result, the university posted a graduate employment rate of 67.6 percent based on the 2025 university information disclosure, ranking first among four-year universities in the Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province region for two consecutive years.

"This award recognizes the results of our education reforms, which have been driven by putting students' growth and futures first," Byun said. "We will continue pushing forward with education innovation so that our students can grow into globally competitive talent, reaching beyond the region and into the world."
