Mixed martial arts fighter and broadcaster Choo Sung-hoon is stepping back from his YouTube channel, which has 2.09 million subscribers.
Choo announced Friday through his YouTube channel's community page that he would be taking a break from the platform starting the following week. "I will focus on preparing for my upcoming fight and come back looking even better," he said.
"Please wait just a little longer," he added. "Don't forget about me."
Domestic MMA organization Black Combat is set to hold Black Combat 17 at Gocheok Sky Dome in November, where Choo is scheduled to fight in what is expected to be his retirement bout.
Choo has previously expressed strong affection for his YouTube activities, making his decision to pause them a sign of how seriously he is approaching his fight preparation.
On Sept. 3, Choo wrote on Instagram: "Through YouTube, I was able to meet so many different people and spend the best times with them — and I believe that is all thanks to the fans who have always cheered me on and my YouTube subscribers. I cannot express how grateful I am. Everyone, I sincerely thank you."
