Dalseong-gun in Daegu announced Monday that it has finalized a third supplementary budget of 1.4 trillion won ($1.01 billion), the first such revision under the current administration.

The figure represents a 69.2 billion won, or 5.2 percent, increase from the previously approved budget of 1.33 trillion won.

The supplementary budget allocates 8.4 billion won to build a multipurpose community center in Hwawon, 3 billion won for a multipurpose gymnasium in Guji, 2.2 billion won to expand parking at the administrative welfare center in Hyeonpung-eup, and 2.1 billion won to develop a public parking lot in the Maegok-ri neighborhood of Dasa.

Alongside this, the county will spend 2.2 billion won to acquire land including a public open space at Dalchang Reservoir, 1 billion won to create a walking trail at Dasa Neighborhood Park, 1.3 billion won to expand the Biseulsan Youth Hostel, and 600 million won to widen the main hiking trail on Biseulsan and improve pathways through the royal azalea colony.

The budget also sets aside 900 million won for emergency repairs at the national sports center in Dalseong Comprehensive Sports Park, 400 million won to build a self-directed learning center in Guji-myeon, 9.7 billion won for farm road and irrigation channel maintenance, and 1.9 billion won for further trail improvements in the Biseulsan royal azalea colony.

"We distributed resources with a focus on accelerating key pending projects and on initiatives that residents can feel making a difference in their daily lives," Dalseong-gun County Chief Choi Jae-hun said.
