The Incheon Michuhol Police Station said Sunday it had booked a man in his 30s, identified only as A, on charges including violation of the Narcotics Control Act after he caused a disturbance while apparently under the influence of drugs.

According to Yonhap, A caused a disturbance around 10 p.m. Friday on the rooftop of a multi-unit residential building in Juan-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon.

He demanded that police summon his ex-girlfriend to the scene but came down safely after officers talked him down.

As he was being escorted to a police substation, A was caught attempting to discard a syringe.

Police said they believe he had used the syringe to inject drugs and booked him on that basis.

Police plan to administer a drug test to confirm whether A had used narcotics, and will also investigate whether he had stalked his former girlfriend or committed any other offenses.

"We ordered an emergency hospitalization taking into account his condition at the time and the safety of the public," a police official said. "We plan to summon him soon to investigate the specific details of the incident."
