Haitai Confectionery said it will raise prices on 25 brands — including Ohyes, Home Run Ball and Pocky — by an average of 7.8 percent starting Oct. 1.

By category, six snack brands and three chocolate brands will see average increases of 9.8 percent, 11 biscuit brands 9.4 percent, and three candy brands 10.0 percent. Fourteen products across five brands — Ppasae, Osatsu, Honey Butter Chip, Calbee Potato Chip and Ice Cool — will also be reduced in weight.

"Rising international oil prices and raw materials costs have driven up manufacturing and logistics expenses, intensifying cost pressures," the company said. "We have worked to absorb these increases through management efficiency and cost reduction efforts, but have determined that the situation can no longer be sustained."
