Comedian Kim Ji-min, now 19 weeks pregnant, drew attention after hesitating to use a family-friendly parking space even after spotting one.

On Wednesday, Kim posted a photo on SNS showing a family-friendly parking zone sign and asked, "Am I allowed to park here, or do I need to be as far along as that?" — referring to the heavily pregnant figure depicted on the sign.

The sign in the photo shows illustrations of an elderly person with a cane, an adult with a young child, and a visibly pregnant woman, with the words "family-friendly parking" printed beneath them.

Though she is pregnant, Kim is neither as far along as the figure on the sign nor accompanied by a young child, and she appeared uncertain about whether she was entitled to use the space.

Family-friendly parking spaces are designated for people who need extra convenience when parking, including pregnant women, those accompanied by young children, and elderly drivers.

In 2023, the Seoul Metropolitan Government converted its existing women-priority parking zones into family-friendly parking zones to better serve those with mobility needs, including pregnant women, drivers with young children, and elderly users. Women in the early and middle stages of pregnancy are eligible to use the spaces, not only those in the late term.

Meanwhile, Kim married fellow comedian Kim Jun-ho last year and announced in July that she was expecting through in vitro fertilization. The pregnancy news drew congratulations from fellow entertainers and fans online, with the couple having already won wide affection as a well-known pair in the comedy world.
