Incoming director emphasizes on-the-ground approach to labor disputes, industrial accidents and job creation
Lee Chang-gil, former chairman of the North Chungcheong Provincial Labor Relations Commission, took office Friday as director of the Busan Regional Office of Employment and Labor.
Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in political science and entered public service through the 40th administrative officer examination. He has since held key posts at the Ministry of Employment and Labor headquarters, the Labor Relations Commission and regional employment and labor offices.
"The Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province region has built its industrial ecosystem around large-scale complexes in shipbuilding, automobiles and petrochemicals," Lee said. "I will pursue field-centered employment and labor administration so we can respond effectively to regional challenges, including labor-management disputes, industrial accident prevention and job creation."
