A total of 605 candidates — 104 actuaries and 501 loss adjusters — passed the second-stage licensing exams held this year.

The Financial Supervisory Service announced Friday that it had convened the Insurance Professionals Examination Management Committee to finalize the results of the 49th actuary and loss adjuster second-stage exams for 2026.

The exams, held July 25 and 26, produced 104 actuary passers and 501 loss adjuster passers, broken down into 60 in property, 100 in vehicle and 341 in bodily injury. To pass the actuary exam, candidates must score at least 60 points in each of five subjects within five years of clearing the first stage. Loss adjuster candidates must score at least 40 points in each subject and average at least 60 points across all subjects.

The number of actuary passers fell by 16 from 120 last year, while loss adjuster passers declined by five from 506 the previous year.

The actuary pass rate was 41.2 percent, with top scorers averaging 87.47 points. Among loss adjusters, the pass rate was 10.6 percent for property and 11.8 percent for bodily injury, while vehicle loss adjusters posted a pass rate of 19.2 percent. Average top scores by category were 70.78 points for property, 72.50 for vehicle and 72.38 for bodily injury.

Most actuary passers were 30 or younger, while loss adjuster passers were distributed more evenly across age groups. Full results are available on the FSS website and the Korea Insurance Development Institute website.
