Korea East-West Power announced Thursday that it signed a spot trading master agreement and supply cooperation MOUs with three global natural gas suppliers at Gastech 2026, the world's largest LNG conference, held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.

The utility signed a master sales and purchase agreement (MSPA) for LNG spot trading with SK Gas International, the Singapore-based subsidiary of SK Gas, on Monday. It then signed natural gas supply cooperation MOUs with global commodities trader Glencore Singapore on Tuesday and with PTT International Trading, a subsidiary of Thailand's largest state-owned energy company PTT Group, on Wednesday.

The agreements will allow Korea East-West Power to flexibly adjust procurement volumes and power generation operations in response to market conditions, strengthening both fuel cost competitiveness and supply stability.

The MSPA with SK Gas International gives the company a foundation to purchase LNG promptly in a highly volatile spot market. The MOUs with Glencore Singapore and PTT International Trading reinforce procurement cooperation through international market intelligence sharing and joint purchasing arrangements.

Korea East-West Power President Kwon Myung-ho said securing a stable natural gas import base is a critical task directly tied to national energy security at a time of growing uncertainty in international energy markets.
