Screen replacement and 4K laser projectors installed

Special screenings of Wim Wenders, Denis Villeneuve films planned to mark reopening

Cinecube, an art-house theater operated by T-cast, the media arm of Taekwang Group, announced Thursday that it has completed a full overhaul of its projection and sound systems to mark its 26th anniversary.

The renovation included a new screen and 4K laser projectors, along with upgraded and additional speakers to improve mid- and low-frequency reproduction, enhancing both picture and audio quality.

To mark the renovation, Cinecube will screen Wim Wenders' "Perfect Days" through Sept. 30, while Denis Villeneuve's "Incendies" will receive a special one-day screening on Oct. 5. "Incendies" will be shown on film rather than digital, allowing audiences to experience the format's distinctive texture and color palette.

"Through this renovation, we expect to convey the intentions of directors and creators to audiences more vividly and with greater depth," a Cinecube official said. "We will continue to improve the screening environment so that audiences can experience great films in an even better setting."
