Going beyond simple hiring interviews, the event offers tailored support including job-description sessions, agency consultations and special lectures — with current employees from Magok-based firms such as LG Science Park, Robotis and Air Zeta leading the job-description sessions.
Gangseo-gu in Seoul will host a job fair on Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Seoul Startup Hub M+ (14 Magok Jungang 8-ro).
The fair has been redesigned as a comprehensive employment support event, moving beyond simple hiring interviews to encompass job exploration, employment lectures and personalized consulting. It will provide tailored job-search services to both young and middle-aged job seekers.
A total of 29 companies will take part, including firms based in the Magok district and aviation-related businesses. The event has significantly expanded participation in high-demand professional fields — software development, engineering and web design — moving away from its previous focus on manual labor positions.
The fair will be organized into four zones: a job-description session zone, a corporate recruitment zone, an agency consultation zone and an employment lecture zone.
A standout feature is the job-description session for young job seekers, where current employees from leading companies will share firsthand work experience in 90-minute sessions. Participating firms include LG Science Park, the research and development complex in Magok; Robotis, a robotics specialist; and Air Zeta, an air cargo company.
Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis — 120 for Air Zeta, 70 for Robotis and 100 for LG Science Park.
The corporate recruitment zone will feature one-on-one on-site hiring interviews and job consultations with 26 companies, including Magok-based firms Korea Airport Service Security, PNP Secure, Kowiver and KAS, offering job seekers direct hiring opportunities.
The agency consultation zone will be staffed by four employment-related organizations — including the Gangseo 50 Plus Center and the Gangseo Women's Human Resources Development Center — providing guidance on resume writing and job support programs.
In addition, the employment lecture zone will host special talks aimed at helping middle-aged attendees plan their next chapter. Im Jeong-yeol, a fire protection engineer who drew public attention after appearing on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," will deliver a talk titled "Starting at 50: A Record of Life's Turnaround," followed by a lecture on post-retirement life planning by Seo Gyu-chan, an instructor with the National Pension Service.
Side events will also be on offer, including resume photo shoots, personal color consultations and ear therapy sessions designed to relieve job-search stress.
Gangseo-gu District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon said the fair came together thanks to the commitment of top Magok companies such as LG Science Park and Robotis, which joined forces to create hiring opportunities for job seekers. "We have prepared this event to support young people's dreams and help middle-aged residents find new employment," he said. "We hope many residents will take advantage of it."
