Polysilicon derivatives, unmanned aircraft systems among items listed on agency website; 10-digit code linkage allows easy lookup
The Korea Customs Service on Wednesday published a Korea-US Harmonized System code cross-reference table on its website, covering items the United States announced as subject to new product-specific tariffs in August.
According to the agency, polysilicon derivatives produced in South Korea — including ingots, wafers, solar cells and modules — will face a 15 percent tariff beginning Dec. 4. If the US import declaration price for polysilicon or its derivatives falls below the minimum import price set by the United States, or if price documentation is not submitted, a specific duty may be imposed on top of that rate.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, drone docking stations, and components of drones with a maximum takeoff weight exceeding 25 kilograms will be subject to a 15 percent tariff starting Sept. 3, while other drone parts will face the same rate from Feb. 9 next year.
The Korea Customs Service also released a separate Korea-US HS code cross-reference table on Aug. 24 covering items excluded from US import restrictions related to forced labor; that material is likewise available on the agency's website.
The agency said it will continue to update product-specific cross-reference tables in line with changes in US tariff policy to support South Korean exporters, and will help companies adapt to shifting tariff conditions through a fast-track advance ruling service operated by its US Tariff Classification Consultation Center.
