Damyang-gun is conducting pesticide residue safety inspections at eco-friendly rice production complexes across the county ahead of the upcoming purchase season.
The inspections are designed to verify pesticide residue levels before purchase, help farmers ship their crops with confidence, and boost consumer trust in eco-friendly agricultural products.
The county's Agricultural Technology Center will collect rice samples from production complexes and analyze them for 463 pesticide residue components. Based on the results, the center plans to ensure that only rice confirmed safe is cleared for purchase and shipment.
"We will thoroughly verify the safety of eco-friendly rice through pre-purchase pesticide residue testing and support farmers so they can ship their crops with peace of mind," an official at the Agricultural Technology Center said. The official added that pesticide residue testing for general agricultural products will be temporarily suspended during the inspection period and asked for the understanding of farmers and county residents.
