The Jeonnam Creative Economy Innovation Center has drawn more than 1,300 applications for the second round of "Modoo's Startup," a national entrepreneurship challenge program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, through a mobile outreach campaign targeting university campuses and youth-heavy areas across South Jeolla Province.

Moving away from banners and broadcast-based promotion, the center has been operating trolley bus pop-up stations at universities and youth gathering spots around the province to recruit college students and young people as prospective participants in the startup challenge program.

At each trolley bus pop-up station, staff explain the program's goals, eligibility and key support offerings, and link visitors to an online application via an on-site QR code. Free beverages and promotional materials are distributed to encourage sign-ups.

As the regional hub for the "Modoo's Startup" program, the center is conducting a total of 10 mobile outreach runs in partnership with six mentoring organizations across South Jeolla Province, focusing on university campuses. Eight runs have been completed so far, visiting Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH), Dongshin University, Mokpo National University, Mokpo National Maritime University, Suncheon National University and Suncheon Cheongam University, with Chosun University of Technology among the remaining stops.

Each trolley bus pop-up station session draws an average of more than 100 on-site applications, reflecting strong interest among college students and young people. Total applications for the second round of the program surpassed 1,300 as of Wednesday.

The second recruitment round for the Modoo's Startup project runs through Thursday, with applications accepted through the program's platform at www.modoo.or.kr.

"Mobile outreach will broaden participation opportunities for college students and young people who are interested in starting a business but have had difficulty accessing information, and will encourage aspiring entrepreneurs in the region to take the leap," a center official said.
