Kim to compete alongside Im Sung-jae after Presidents Cup

Kim Si-woo, who has had a standout season on the PGA Tour, will appear before home fans in October.

The Genesis Championship organizing committee confirmed Tuesday that Kim will compete in the tournament, set to run from Oct. 22 to 25 at Ujeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

Kim has enjoyed his best season on the PGA Tour, finishing in the top 10 eleven times — including three runner-up finishes. Both tallies trail only world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

Currently ranked 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Kim sits atop the standings among all Asian players, with the position also marking a career best. This season he became the first Korean player to surpass $10 million in PGA Tour season earnings, and his career prize money has now exceeded $40 million.

Kim will also tee up at the Presidents Cup in the United States later this month as the top-ranked player on the International Team. Im Sung-jae, who had already confirmed his entry in the Genesis Championship, is likewise set for the Presidents Cup, meaning the two will compete side by side on home soil after facing off in the United States.

Competing in the Genesis Championship for the second consecutive year, Kim said, "The support from the fans last year was truly incredible. I want to meet the fans again this year and put on a great show."

The Genesis Championship, marking its 10th anniversary this year, is co-sanctioned by the KPGA Tour and the DP World Tour. The purse stands at $4 million, with 126 players from Korea and abroad set to compete.

The tournament also serves as the final qualifying event for the DP World Tour season-ending playoffs. The winner receives $680,000 in prize money along with playing rights on both the KPGA Tour and the DP World Tour for two years beginning in 2027.
