First overseas move after building domestic base

AI and robotics combined with air management, health monitoring

Malaysia to serve as springboard for US and global expansion

NAMUHX, the AI wellness robotics brand of SK Intellix, is making its first foray into overseas markets, starting with Malaysia.

SK Intellix said Tuesday it held a NAMUHX launch event in Malaysia on Monday, with government officials and partner company representatives in attendance.

The company chose Malaysia as its first overseas market, citing the country's push to develop advanced technology industries including digital and AI, and its emergence as a hub for AI and data centers in Southeast Asia. NAMUHX plans to use Malaysia as a springboard to expand sales into major global markets, including the United States.

NAMUHX combines AI and robotics to deliver indoor environment management and health-monitoring functions. The product features an air solution that detects pollutants in a given space, navigates autonomously and purifies the air, as well as a live view function that lets users check real-time video feeds.

Even without an internet connection, users can control key functions by voice using an on-device large language model. The robot also includes a vital sign check feature that measures five health indicators without physical contact.

In personal data and security, the product has obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard for information security management. The company positions NAMUHX's integration of air quality management, health monitoring and AI voice interaction into a single mobile robot as its core competitive advantage.

The overseas expansion marks a turning point for the NAMUHX business as it extends sales beyond the domestic market. However, how much demand the company can generate for wellness robots — a relatively new product category — in overseas markets will be a key factor in determining whether it can establish a lasting foothold abroad.

"Malaysia is a market with strong growth potential in the advanced AI industry," a NAMUHX official said. "Starting with Malaysia, we plan to continue introducing NAMUHX to major global markets, including the United States."
