A Korean man's act of kindness toward a Japanese tourist has drawn widespread attention online.

A Japanese visitor, identified only as A, recently posted a message in hangul on social media.

In the post, A said she was looking for a Korean man she had met on the airport railroad from Seoul to Incheon Airport on Friday.

According to A, the man, who had been sitting next to her, struck up a conversation, saying he had been deeply moved by the hospitality locals showed him during a past trip to Japan and that he wanted to return the favor by treating her as a visitor to Korea.

A said the man handed her 50,000 won ($37) in cash, telling her to buy herself a coffee at the airport. She added that he also gave her red ginseng, apparently because she was wearing a mask and he assumed she had a cold.

"I was deeply touched by the ajeossi's sincere kindness," A wrote, using the Korean word for an older man. "I regret so much that I got off the train without even asking his name. Through this post, I want to express my gratitude to him again."
