Four weekly sessions run every Wednesday from Oct. 14 to Nov. 4, targeting about 100 residents and association officials
Step-by-step education covers redevelopment procedures, association management, distribution plans and relocation
Guro-gu will host the "2026 Guro-gu Redevelopment Academy," targeting about 100 residents and association executives and staff involved in local redevelopment and reconstruction projects.
The program was designed to provide accurate information on redevelopment and reconstruction projects and to strengthen the capacity of those involved in advancing them.
The academy runs for four sessions, held every Wednesday from Oct. 14 to Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the fifth-floor auditorium of the Guro-gu District Office.
Each session follows the stages of a typical redevelopment project. The first session, on Oct. 14, will feature instructor Kim Hak-ju covering the designation of redevelopment zones and the formation and operation of associations.
Instructor Lee Eun-suk will then lead the remaining three sessions: the second, on Oct. 21, on project implementation plan approvals and amendments; the third, on Oct. 28, on management and distribution plan approvals and amendments; and the fourth, on Nov. 4, on relocation and dissolution procedures.
Residents who wish to attend may register in advance via an online QR code or sign up in person on the day of each session.
The district will conduct a satisfaction survey after each session to gather feedback on the program and incorporate it into future planning.
Further details are available on the Guro-gu District Office website or by contacting the Guro-gu Redevelopment and Reconstruction Support Team.
"Redevelopment projects have a significant impact on residents' daily lives and property, so it is important to understand the process based on accurate information," Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong said. "I hope this academy helps residents better understand redevelopment projects and obtain the information they need as the projects move forward."
On Oct. 7, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will hold its own "2026 Public Redevelopment Academy" at the main auditorium of the Guro Community Center, on the theme "What Is My Share of Redevelopment Costs?" The event is open to all Seoul residents.
