District mayor holds on-site meeting Monday with representatives from eight projects including Eunma, Mido and Seonkyung — listens firsthand to stage-by-stage concerns
Discussions cover permits, estimated cost shares and Seoul city consultations; public walkway between Eunma and Mido also inspected
Gangnam-gu held an on-site meeting Monday with representatives from eight reconstruction projects in the Daechi and Dogok neighborhoods, listening directly to the difficulties they face and the support they need to move forward.
The session covered current issues facing a combined 17,007 households spread across projects at different stages — from project implementation approval and management and disposal plan approval to the establishment of improvement plans — and explored solutions tailored to each site.
The meeting was held at the residents' association conference room of Hanbo Mido Mansion as part of the on-site communication program under the "Gangnam Reconstruction Acceleration and Harmony (Sinhwa) Project." District Mayor Kim Hyun-gi attended along with relevant civil servants and about 30 people, including the heads and executives of the eight project associations and promotion committees.
The eight participating projects were Eunma, Daechi Woosung 1st and KGM 2nd, Daechi KGM 1st, Gaepo Woosung 4th, Dogok Gaepo Hansin, Daechi Mido, Daechi Seonkyung, and Gaepo Woosung 1st and 2nd. Dogok Gaepo Hansin has reached the management and disposal plan approval stage, while Eunma, Daechi Woosung 1st and KGM 2nd, and Daechi KGM 1st are at the project implementation approval stage. Gaepo Woosung 4th has received association establishment approval, Daechi Mido is at the promotion committee stage, and Daechi Seonkyung and Gaepo Woosung 1st and 2nd are working to establish their improvement plans.
Participants shared progress updates and upcoming schedules for each project and aired difficulties encountered on the ground. Key issues discussed included expediting permit procedures such as integrated deliberation, reviewing estimated cost shares and supporting association establishment, coordinating with the Seoul Metropolitan Government on improvement plan decisions, and linking infrastructure between adjacent complexes.
The district will review the concerns raised on a project-by-project basis, responding swiftly to matters it can handle directly and continuing follow-up discussions with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other relevant agencies on issues requiring broader coordination. Given that each project is at a different stage and faces different conditions, the district said it will provide administrative support tailored to each site's needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
After the meeting, District Mayor Kim and the attendees moved to the rooftop of Building 111 of Hanbo Mido Mansion to survey the Eunma and Mido apartment areas. They inspected the current state of the public pedestrian walkway between Eunma and Mido and reviewed connectivity between adjacent complexes and the surrounding infrastructure.
"Because each reconstruction project is at a different stage and faces different circumstances, it is crucial to hear directly from the sites and connect them with the support they need at the right time," District Mayor Kim Hyun-gi said. "We will swiftly review the challenges identified on the ground, and for matters requiring coordination with relevant agencies, we will work together to find solutions and ensure reconstruction projects move forward as quickly as possible."
