Cheongdo-gun in North Gyeongsang Province held a commuter-hour integrity campaign outside its county office Monday morning, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, urging public officials to neither give nor receive gifts during the holiday season.
Cheongdo-gun County Chief Park Kwon-hyeon and other officials distributed integrity pledge leaflets and promotional materials, reaffirming their commitment to a culture of clean governance.
The county has been leading the campaign to preemptively curb entrenched corrupt practices — such as accepting money or entertainment — that can arise amid the festive holiday atmosphere, and to foster a fair and transparent public service culture.
"On the occasion of this Chuseok holiday, all public officials will reflect once more on the true value of integrity and do their utmost to build a Cheongdo-gun that earns the unwavering trust of its residents," Park said.
