The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team topped the podium again at the 14th round of the 2026 F1 World Championship — the Spanish Grand Prix — on Sunday (local time), the team announced Monday. The race, held in Madrid, made Kimi Antonelli the first winner at the newly built Madring Circuit.

Antonelli started from second on the grid after posting a qualifying time of 1 minute 31.835 seconds on Sunday, then crossed the finish line first with a race time of 1 hour 34 minutes 23.754 seconds. The victory gave him his eighth win of the season, extending his lead in the Drivers' World Championship to 292 points. Teammate George Russell held on to second place in the standings.

"I'm delighted to have kept up our strong season results with a well-paced race today," Antonelli said. "The team is in a great position in the championship, and I'll be ready to carry that momentum through the remaining rounds of the 2026 season."

Mercedes-AMG Petronas has now won 10 of the 14 rounds held this season, leading the Constructors' Championship with 503 points — 145 points clear of the second-place team. The team's next outing is the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, beginning Sept. 24.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Korea launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 43 in July, an entry-level addition to the AMG GT high-performance sports car lineup featuring an electronically motorized exhaust turbocharger developed from Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team technology.
