Jobs, startups, policy and wellness all under one roof — open to all
The fair runs Thursday afternoon at Dobong-gu Office, featuring a startup forum with science creator 'Gwedo,' a startup idea competition and mentoring sessions across 19 career fields
Seoul's Dobong-gu will hold its third annual youth career and policy fair, "Cheongjeong Moa: Start in Dobong," at the district office Thursday to mark Youth Day.
"Cheongjeong Moa" is short for "youth policy roundup." This year's edition brings together programs spanning employment, entrepreneurship, policy and wellness, all designed to help young people find their path and take on new challenges.
Particularly this year, the fair goes beyond simply providing information, significantly expanding hands-on, interactive programming — including a startup forum, a startup idea competition, a conversation with young CEOs and an employment mentoring concert — so participants can engage directly with working professionals.
Under the "Find Your Path (CAREER)" track, seven organizations — including the Youth Employment Academy, Duksung Women's University's University Job Plus Center and the Seoul Northern Employment and Welfare Plus Center — will offer career exploration sessions, job counseling, and resume and interview coaching.
Starting at 6 p.m., the program opens with a meet-and-greet between District Mayor Kim Dong-wook and young residents, followed by a special employment lecture and an employment mentoring concert featuring working professionals from 19 companies and fields — including Nike, Microsoft, Kia, Samsung Electronics, Hybe and Kiwoom Securities.
The "Take the Leap (STARTUP)" track will feature promotional and consulting booths run by 10 youth-led companies, including tenants of the Dobong-gu Youth Startup Center, along with a startup forum, a startup idea competition and a conversation with young CEOs, giving participants a chance to explore entrepreneurship and hear firsthand from founders.
The "Find Opportunities (POLICY)" track will have eight organizations on hand — among them the Youth Future Division, Seoul Youth Center Dobong, Seoul Young Tech, the National Pension Service and the SH Youth Safe Housing Comprehensive Support Center — providing guidance on employment, housing, financial planning and support for isolated or reclusive youth.
A "Take a Break (HEALING)" zone will also be set up for young visitors to recharge, with activities such as LP music listening and carabiner keyring making adding a fun element to the event.
Dobong-gu District Mayor Kim Dong-wook said the fair has been strengthened this year to go beyond information-sharing and give young people the chance to meet and talk directly with working professionals. "We will continue to provide practical support so that young people can discover their potential in Dobong and set off boldly toward their own path and next goal," he said.
