Gyeongsan city in North Gyeongsang Province will distribute a free set of KakaoTalk emoticons featuring its official mascots, Baekgomi and Byeoli, to the first 30,000 users starting at 2 p.m. Monday, the city announced Sunday.

The collection comprises 16 emoticons designed to capture the friendly and distinctive charm of the two characters.

The emoticons are available to anyone who follows the city's official KakaoTalk channel. Existing followers and new subscribers alike are eligible — those new to the channel can search for "Gyeongsan City Hall" in the KakaoTalk search bar and add it to participate.

The emoticons will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out and can be used for 30 days from the date of download.

"We hope these emoticons bring a small moment of joy to residents' everyday conversations and serve as an opportunity to grow even closer to Baekgomi and Byeoli," a city official said. "We will continue working through diverse content and local partnerships to make them beloved representatives of Gyeongsan that truly connect with our citizens."
