The North Gyeongsang Provincial Council visited welfare facilities in the region Thursday to mark the Chuseok holiday, with council members and administrative staff sharing seasonal goodwill with residents.
Lee Jong-pyeong, a People Power Party member of the council's Construction and Fire Department Committee representing Cheongdo, joined administrative staff in visiting the Cheongdo-gun Sheltered Workshop for People with Disabilities in Wolgok-ri, Cheongdo-gun, where they delivered holiday gift packages prepared by the council.
The group also reviewed the facility's operations and heard staff describe difficulties in vocational rehabilitation training and employment support programs for people with disabilities, exchanging views on how to foster a stable working environment and promote greater self-reliance.
"I hope everyone can enjoy a warm and plentiful holiday without feeling left behind," Lee said. "The provincial council will continue to pay close attention and provide support so that people with disabilities can work in a stable environment and live as independent members of their communities."
