2026 Ground Art Fair runs Thursday through Sunday at Songdo Convensia in Incheon

Paintings, Korean traditional art, folk art, sculpture and crafts gathered in one place

An art event where artists meet visitors in person and share the stories and creative backgrounds behind their works is coming to Songdo, Incheon.

The 2026 Ground Art Fair runs for four days, from Thursday to Sunday, at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.

Unlike conventional art fairs centered on galleries, the event bills itself as an "artist-centered art fair" in which artists participate directly to introduce their own works. Visitors can do more than simply view the pieces — they can hear from the artists themselves about the creative process, techniques and the stories behind each work.

The exhibition floor will feature works spanning a wide range of disciplines, including painting, Korean traditional painting, Western painting, folk painting, sculpture and crafts. Both solo booths — showcasing a single artist's body of work — and shared booths featuring multiple artists will be on offer. Participants range from established veterans and mid-career artists to emerging talents, bringing a diverse array of works together under one roof.

Visitors interested in collecting art can ask artists directly about prices, production processes and care instructions. Even first-time buyers can consult with artists on the spot about acquiring a piece.

With the fair opening just ahead of Chuseok, families are also welcome to view the works and chat with the artists. Organizers have highlighted direct communication between artists and visitors as a defining feature of this year's fair.
