Lotte Mart and Lotte Super are introducing the "Oneul Joheun Daily Nuts 80-Pack Gift Set" (18g × 80 packs) this Chuseok season, priced at 29,900 won ($22). Oneul Joheun is a master private-brand label Lotte Mart and Lotte Super launched in 2023, covering food and non-food categories. The new gift set marks the brand's first holiday offering, extending its reach beyond everyday grocery staples.

Nut assortments in the 10,000–30,000 won range are widely regarded as value-for-money gifts, with demand concentrated in that price band. This year, however, rising raw-material prices have squeezed costs across the category. Lotte Mart and Lotte Super channeled their private-brand sourcing capabilities into the value segment, making the nut set the label's first holiday product.

Almonds make up 40 percent of the total nut content in the Oneul Joheun Daily Nuts 80-Pack Gift Set — well above the 30 percent or less typical of similarly priced competing sets. The product also includes macadamia nuts and roasted cashews, which command higher prices, rather than the walnuts and peanuts more common in budget-oriented assortments.

Price competitiveness came through direct overseas sourcing. Conventional nut gift sets are typically assembled by procuring raw ingredients from multiple importers and then contracting a separate manufacturer to produce the finished product. For this set, Lotte Mart worked with a single overseas specialist partner that handles the entire process — from raw-material imports and blending to individual portioning and finished-product assembly — under one roof. By consolidating what had been a fragmented production chain, the retailer managed to increase the share of premium nuts while holding the retail price in the 20,000-won range, even as almond prices climbed more than 30 percent year on year.

"Drawing on our robust domestic and international sourcing network and product-development expertise, we will expand our private-brand lineup to cover not only everyday food and household essentials but also holiday and seasonal demand, contributing to price stability in daily life," a Lotte Mart and Lotte Super official said.
