A concert by rapper T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun), formerly of boy group Big Bang, has been canceled just over a week before it was set to take place.

Agency Tonz Entertainment said via its official Instagram account on Thursday that the "T.O.P PRE-STUDIO 2026 in JAKARTA" concert, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 19, had been unavoidably canceled due to local circumstances.

"The artist and the agency also did their best to hold the scheduled concert, but determined that proceeding as planned would be difficult due to local circumstances, prompting the decision to cancel," the agency said.

"We are truly sorry to deliver this sudden news to the fans who have been waiting for the concert, and we ask for your understanding," it added.

Meanwhile, T.O.P released his first solo full-length album, "Dajung Gwanjeom" ("Multiple Perspectives"), in April.

It marked his first new solo music in 13 years, since "DOOM DADA" in 2013.

T.O.P was involved in the album's production overall, working alongside Grammy-winning engineer Ilko, American painter Ed Ruscha, and Chae Kyoung-sun, the art director of the Netflix series "Squid Game."

T.O.P debuted with Big Bang in 2006 and gained massive popularity moving between music and acting, but he paused his activities after he was caught smoking marijuana in 2017.

He resumed his career by appearing as the rapper Thanos in "Squid Game" Season 2, which was released on Netflix in December 2024.
