An apartment complex in Jeonju has sparked controversy after asking delivery riders to lift their helmet visors so their faces are visible.

On Tuesday, a post titled "This is a notice posted at a Jeonju apartment complex asking riders to show their faces" appeared on the Instagram account of Bobaedream, along with a photo.

Bobaedream said it received the photo through a direct message, showing a notice titled "A request for cooperation to delivery riders and other helmet wearers."

The notice read, "We have received many complaints from residents who feel anxious and fearful when riders wear helmets that cover their faces. When moving around the complex or riding the elevator, please always lift your visor so your face is visible. We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that all residents can move about safely and comfortably."

The attached photo showed a delivery rider wearing a helmet with the visor down, with text on the visor reading, "Please lift your visor so your face is visible." As a correct example, the notice showed a person wearing a helmet that covered only the top of the head, without a visor.

Reactions to the notice were divided. Bobaedream said, "Those who support it argue that a helmet covering the face renders CCTV useless, which can cause anxiety and fear, while those who oppose it say it infringes on delivery riders' freedom."
