A fire broke out on the 17th floor of a 20-story apartment building in Dasa-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday and was extinguished about 20 minutes later.

According to the Daegu Fire and Safety Headquarters, authorities dispatched 21 pieces of equipment and 81 personnel to the scene immediately after receiving the report and completed the firefighting operation around 3:48 p.m.

No one was injured in the fire, but about 100 residents rushed out of the building in a panic.

Dalseong-gun took emergency measures after the fire broke out, including sending text alerts with evacuation and safety guidance to residents.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, along with the extent of property damage.
