National Pension Service, Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute sign MOU
Plan will hire 30 retirees to build senior job model that draws on their expertise
The National Pension Service said Wednesday that it signed an MOU with the Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute to channel the expertise and experience of National Pension Service retirees into senior job opportunities.
The agreement aims to give newly retired professionals who want to keep using their career skills and experience new jobs, while offering the public a higher level of public service.
Under the MOU, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in several areas: jointly developing and expanding a senior job model tailored to the National Pension Service, exchanging infrastructure and information related to senior jobs, and running joint campaigns to promote the project and improve public awareness of it.
In response, the two organizations will create 30 new jobs supporting National Pension Service's public services through the "Leading Model Project for Utilizing Senior Capabilities."
Program participants will be made up of National Pension Service retirees. They will draw on their extensive experience and expertise in pension affairs to help customers visiting branch offices with general consultations and requests related to National Pension Service civil affairs.
Building on the agreement, the two organizations plan to continue identifying and expanding various roles that make use of retirees' experience and expertise.
"This agreement carries great significance in that it puts the extensive experience and expertise of retirees back to use as a social resource," said Kim Seong-ju, chairman of the National Pension Service. "The two organizations will work together to establish this as a successful model of mutual benefit that gives retirees a sense of fulfillment through social participation and provides the public with reliable public service."
