Free performance for elderly residents with disabilities set for Sunday at Gangdong Arts Center
Gangdong-gu in Seoul will host the 13th Chuseok Hyosahrang Hanmadang, a free cultural performance for elderly residents with disabilities who have limited access to arts events, at the Grand Theater Han River of Gangdong Arts Center on Sunday.
The event is organized by the Gangdong-gu chapter of the Seoul Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities and sponsored by the district. It is designed to bring together elderly residents with disabilities, their families, local community members and welfare workers for a shared cultural experience.
Singers Nam Jin and Oh Yu-jin will headline the concert, putting on a full stage performance for elderly residents and families with disabilities who rarely have the opportunity to attend live shows. The event will also feature a pre-show performance by an 11-piece band and a nostalgic comedy show by comedian Lee Jeong-pyo.
Admission is free, with numbered tickets distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance. Doors open at 2 p.m., one hour before the show begins, and entry may be restricted if the venue reaches capacity.
"I hope this Chuseok concert becomes a joyful occasion for elderly residents with disabilities, their families and neighbors to enjoy together," Gangdong-gu District Mayor Lee Su-hee said. "We will continue to pay close attention so that no one is left out of cultural life."
