The city of Gyeongsan in North Gyeongsang Province held an event Wednesday at the city hall conference room where Mayor Jo Hyeon-il joined staff members for an open discussion on integrity and organizational culture.

The event gave Mayor Jo a chance to speak candidly with frontline employees about building an integrity-centered workplace.

Moving away from the traditional lecture-style integrity education, the session drew praise for introducing a more horizontal form of communication in which participants freely shared their views with one another.

The highlight was a "balance game" format centered on the theme of an integrity-driven organizational culture. Participants chose between two presented options and freely explained their reasoning. The exercise showed that people at different ranks, generations and levels of work experience can hold genuinely different views even in the same situation.

"An ethical organization is not built by someone handing down the right answer — it is built together through the process of listening to and understanding each other," Mayor Jo said. "Starting with myself, I will listen more closely to the voices of our employees so we can create an organizational culture where everyone, regardless of rank or generation, feels comfortable sharing their thoughts."
